A two-time MVP and perhaps the best catcher in major league history, Johnny Bench led the league in HRs twice and RBIs three times. His Cincinnati Reds dominated the NL in the 1970s winning four pennants and back-to-back world championships in 1975-76. Bench won his first MVP in 1970 belting a career best 45 home runs, driving in 148 runs and also winning one of his 10 Gold Gloves. Inside the front right button path is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “44” with an attached tag with washing instructions and a flag tag reading “SET 1 #8P 1970”. Embroidered on the front left tail is “44/42 70” in red chain stitching. On the left chest is a “REDS” team logo embroidered in white on red tackle twill. On the right chest and on the back is the player number “5”. Across the back reads the player name “BENCH”. These all are done in red tackle twill sewn directly into the white flannel jersey. Great use is seen on the shoulders where the chest protector was worn and where Bench’s catcher's gear would clip on the sides. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a Reds Executive LOA and a Photo-Match.com LOA grading the jersey a perfect 10.
