Jim Fregosi was selected by the Angels in the expansion draft and made his debut in September 1961. He made his first All-Star squad in 1964. In 1967, when he won his only Gold Glove and finished seventh in the MVP voting. The Angels traded him to the NY Mets in the same deal blockbuster that brought Nolan Ryan to California. Fregosi would later manage Ryan in 1978 and 1979, Ryan's last two years as an Angel. In the back collar is the “Rawlings” size 44 manufacturers tag. On the bottom left front tail is the wash instructions tag with a “Set 1 #8P 1970” flag tag. Above this is “Fregosi 44 70” embroidered in green in the jersey. Across the front is “ANGELS” in red on navy blue felt. On the back is the player number “11” with the player name “FREGOSI” in the same felt. Autographed on front in black marker with “Best Wishes” added and rates a 7. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
