On this 1849 Colt revolver a stagecoach robbery scene has been engraved. The "Colts Patent" number "61843" can be clearly read in four places on the gun. "Address Col Sam L Colt New-York USA" can be read on the barrel top. The gun appears to be in mechanical working order. Included with the gun is what appears to be its original wooden box with key, a black powder holder and an unopened container of "J. Goldmark's" percussion caps. The items included show signs of natural aging but are in overall very good condition. Please note: Firearms manufactured before January 1, 1898 are considered antiques and curios, and require no special license, registration or shipping declaration. Under no circumstances should they be fired, as they are extremely dangerous, and Grey Flannel Auctions holds no liability in the event of accident or injury.
