Mickey Mouse is quite possibly the best known cartoon character of all time. These three outstanding original drawings feature rough pencil sketches of Mickey Mouse during the holiday season, with the title, "Roughs- Walts XMas Cards." These drawings were submitted to Walt Disney himself, to choose which would be used as his own personal Christmas card in 1936. This lot includes Mickey in a Santa suit with a bag full of presents; Mickey, Donald and Pluto drawing their own Christmas card; and Donald conducting as Mickey sings a Christmas carol. These three original sketches are matted and framed, and also include a newspaper article explaining their origin, showing duplicate images of the drawings. The drawings are in near mint condition with only slight yellowing along the edges. This piece measures an overall 34-1/2" x 24-1/2" and is ready to be displayed.
