Before he received his well-known number "7", Mickey Mantle wore number "6" in his 1951 rookie season. This 8" x 10" photo of a young Mantle posing in his first jersey is signed in blue Sharpie marker. During Joe DiMaggio's 1936 rookie season, his jersey sported the number "9." This 8" x 10" of the "Yankee Clipper" swinging his bat as a rookie is signed in blue Sharpie marker. Also included in this lot is another photo from the 1951 season, which marked the first and last years for the two players, and the only year they played as teammates. It shows Mantle laying in the outfield grass as DiMaggio approaches him in the '51 World Series, and was signed by both players in blue Sharpie marker. All autographs rate near 10s and come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
