Gary Carter's outstanding play in 19 years at one of the most demanding positions on the baseball diamond has earned him a spot as one of the Hall of Fame's newest members. The offered bat was used by "The Kid" and presented to fellow Major Leaguer Jason Thompson. It has been signed "Jason, Best of Luck + God Bless Always, Gary Carter" in blue marker, rates a 10 and comes with a letter from Thompson attesting to its history. It shows evidence of outstanding game use with ball hit and transfer marks visible on the barrel. Blue rack marks are also evident and a light coat of pine tar has been applied to the handle. The player number "8" appears on the knob in black marker.
