Bill White was awarded seven consecutive Gold Gloves for his play at first base and was equally adept at the plate where he was a feared hitter in the clutch. This lot spans the gamut of his career, starting with a pair of road pants worn during the 1960 season. In the waist is the "Rawlings Hall of Fame Flannel" manufacturer's label and adjacent to this are the size "36" and wash tags. Below is a white felt patch reading "White 60 26 ins" in red chain stitch. This denotes player name, year, and inseam, respectively. Also present is a "Set 1 1960" flag tag. The pants show nice use. Next is a bat used by the five time All-Star in 1968. It shows evidence of outstanding game use with ball, hit, and cleat marks visible about the barrel. The player number "12" on the knob was worn by his team mate Johnny Briggs and it is possible that he used the bat as well. White has signed the barrel in blue Sharpie rating an 8. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model Number: 01, Labeling Period: 1968, Length: 35-1/2 inches, Weight: 33 ounces, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. The bat and autograph each come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
