While still in high school Frank Robinson was displaying the on field talent that would carry him into the Hall of Fame. He broke into baseball in a big way in 1956, winning Rookie of the Year honors. An aggressive hitter and base runner, he became one of the most feared players of his day and retired fourth on the all-time homerun list with a Gold Glove, two Most Valuable Player awards, and the 1966 American League Triple Crown under his belt. He later became the first African-American manager in baseball, a position that he still holds today as one of the most recognizable of the game's old timers. He used this bat during the 1973 season while playing with the California Angels. It shows outstanding use with ball, hit, rack, and cleat marks scattered about the barrel. The player number "20" has been written on both ends in vintage black marker. He has signed the barrel in blue marker rating a 10. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model Number: R143, Labeling Period: 1973, Length: 34.5 inches, Weight: 32 ounces, Wood: Ash, Finish: Flame Burned/Treated. The bat comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
