With a string of 11 consecutive Gold Glove Awards under his belt, the argument can be made that Keith Hernandez was the finest fielding first baseman of his era. He remains a fan favorite in New York after helping lead the Mets to a World Championship in 1986. This hat and helmet were used by "Mex" during that time. The hat has the Mets "NY" logo embroidered on the front and Keith's jersey number "17" on the underside of the brim. The "MLB" and "New Era" tags are sewn into the sweatband. The size tag is present but heavy wear has rendered it unreadable. It has been signed in blue marker rating an 8. The helmet also sports the "NY" logo and the player name "Hernandez" on the back below the "ABC" logo. On the inside is the "American Baseball Cap" manufacturer's sticker with the size "7 1/4." The brim has been signed in silver paint pen. The helmet shows nice use. The autographs come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
