Willie Mays exploded onto the baseball scene in 1951 utilizing a combination of power, speed, and all around knowledge of the game that has yet to be equaled. In 22 Major League seasons he set the new standard for excellence and defined what it meant to be an all-around ball player. This bat was used by the Sey Hey Kid while playing with the San Francisco Giants during the 1971 season. It shows tremendous game-use, with a very slight crack. In addition, factory ordering records indicate that Mays did indeed place an order for 35 inch, 34 ounce, M63 model bats for use during the '71 season. There are ball, ball transfer, and stitch marks visible on all sides of the barrel and a heavy coat of pine tar extends of full 20 inches up. One of the very finest Willie Mays bats in the hobby. Manufacturer: Adirondack, Model Number: M63, Labeling Period: 1971, Length: 35 in, Weight: 33.6 oz, Wood: Ash, Finish: Flame Treated. The bat comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
