At the University of Mississippi, Archie Manning was an All-American quarterback and had his number retired. For 12 years, Manning was the field leader of the New Orleans Saints and still holds team passing records. He was the League's MVP in 1978 and participated in two Pro Bowls. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Russell Athletic" label with the size "46." On the back of the jersey is a white mesh nameplate with the name "Manning" in blue letters. The player number "8" appears on the front, back and on each sleeve of the shirt in blue on red numbers. The letters and numbers have been ironed-on. the right sleeve has been custom-cut. The jersey shows game-use and with the exception of the custom-cut right sleeve, appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
