The Detroit Lions, who began play as the Portsmouth Spartans in 1930, are one of the oldest and most storied franchises in NFL history. Detroit's best stretch to date came during the 1950's when the Lions advanced to the championship game four times, winning it all in 1952, 1953 and 1957. This Detroit Lions sideline jacket was worn by the equipment manager during the team's successful ride in the 1950's. The button-down jacket exhibits a rare vintage Lions patch on the left breast and a Lippman's size 38 label in the collar. The collar, waistband and sleeves are trimmed in blue and white. The jacket shows tremendous wear.
