National League baseball returned to the Big Apple in 1962 with the arrival of the New York Mets. Lead by manager and number one Met's supporter, Casey Stengel, the "Metsies" brought summer excitement back to Queens and began a love affair with the city. This 1962 New York Mets program is from the first home game played at the Polo Grounds on April 13, a 4-3 loss to the Pirates. The unscored program is in excellent condition.
