Dave Kingman was traded to the New York Yankees on September 15, 1977 and spent the remainder of the season with the team. Mike Torrez also was acquired by the Yankees early in the 1977 season. Torrez was given this jersey number before giving the number to Dave Kingman after his acquisition. This jersey has been conclusively photo-matched to Dave Kingman in 1977. On the front left tail is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag size “48” with washing instructions. Adjacent below is a strip tag reading “76 1” embroidered in navy blue. Inside the collar is a strip tag reading the player name “Robson”, who did not make the roster in 1976 which indicates the jersey was carried over to the following season. On the left chest is the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo and on the back is the player number “48”. All numbering and lettering is done in navy blue tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent extended organizational use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match.
