On the front middle tail is the McAuliffe manufacturers tag. Attached are three box tags reading “1980” “44” and one with washing instructions. Handwritten on the inner rear middle tail is “IF 83” in period faded black marker. On the left chest reads “A’s” and on the back is the player number “44”. All numbering and lettering is done in yellow on white tackle twill. The second player number “4” on the back has been changed from an original “5” with an outline remaining. Ray Cosey wore number 45 in the 1980 season and Cliff Johnson wore 44 in 1981 which would necessitate a number change. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use.
