Inside the shell is the American Baseball Cap manufacturers sticker. The player number “23” is handwritten underneath the bill in heavily faded period marker. Across the front is the Pirates “P” logo in yellow felt. There is heavy baseball related staining throughout the helmet and minor deterioration. We were told by our consignor that he obtained this helmet a week after the 1960 World Series from the team ball boy. This helmet is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used attributed to Joe Christopher and shows use.
