Dan Issel was an outstanding collegian at the University of Kentucky. He was twice named an All American en route to a school record of 25.7 points per game that still stands today. The ABA Rookie of the Year in 1971, he was a six-time ABA All-Star and one-time NBA pick. Issel was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1993. On the front left tail of the jersey is the “POWERS” manufacturer’s tag with “SIZE 46” and wash instructions. Adjacent to the right is a white strip tag reading “3”L-B”. On the right inseam is a blank frayed tag. Across the front reads “Denver”. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “44”. All are done in the same white on yellow tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “ISSEL” in white tackle twill. On the right shoulder strap is a black and green armband in memory of the Atlanta child killings. On the inner rear waistband of the shorts is an indecipherable tag with flag tag “POWERS” size “L”. On the waistband is the player number “44” written in black marker. Adjacent below is a tag reading “GARMENT AMERICA”. On the sides of each leg is the Denver logo embroidered in red, blue and white on yellow tackle twill.
