Hall of Famer Jerry Rice wore this helmet during the 1993 season where he led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,503 and was named the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year. “Riddell” manufactured “VSR-4” helmet. Adjacent to the left of the left ear hole is the player number “80” in red Dymo tape. “SCHUTT” manufactured grey facemask with code “DIC”. The white plastic bumper reads “Riddell” in black, the two facemask clips both read “93”. No chinstrap is present. On the back of the helmet is an injury warning decal. The backplate of the helmet reads “49ERS” in red. The 49ers interlocking “SF” logo appears on the left and right sides of the helmet in red, black and white. Rice has signed the helmet in black marker with the added inscription “1993”, in our opinion the signature rates an 8. The helmet is properly labeled, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use with some scuffing to the outer dome. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and an additional LOA from Jerry Rice on a San Francisco 49ers letterhead.
