“The Iron Man” Cal Ripken, Jr. passed Lou Gehrig’s record for most consecutive games played in 1995, a record that stood for 56 years and many deemed unbreakable. On the inner front left tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “48” and wash instructions. Adjacent below is a white strip tag reading “2 INCH EXTRA LENGTH”. Adjacent to the right is another white strip tag reading “T”, denoting custom tapering, with a flag tag reading “SET 1 1989”. Across the front reads “Orioles”. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “8”. Across the back is the player name “RIPKEN” on a white nameplate. All lettering and numbering is done in the same orange on black tackle twill. On the right sleeve reads “Rawlings” embroidered in black. Custom corresponding velcro strips have been added between the second and third buttons on the front of the jersey. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use.
