This item had the honor of being displayed in the New York Football Giants Legacy Club. Ken Strong played 14 seasons in the NFL and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967. His performance in the 1934 NFL Championship Game, now known as “The Sneakers Game”, was crucial to the Giants’ 30-13 victory over the Chicago Bears. Down 10-3 in the second half, Strong contributed 17 points on two touchdowns, two extra points and a field goal. This gold tie pendant was presented to Ken Strong after he and the Giants won the 1934 NFL Championship Game, the franchise’s second championship at the time. The pendant features a gold football that measures approximately 1” x 5/8” x 5/8”. The face has been engraved and enameled in red/blue to read “1934 GIANTS WORLD’S CHAMPS” with “KEN STRONG - HALFBACK” engraved on the verso. The laces of the football read “NY” in relief. Attached to the pendant is a 6” gold chain and a 2-½” brace so it could be worn on a dress shirt with a tie. The piece weighs 18 grams and is in NM condition.
