Bobby Doerr was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986. The nine-time All-Star spent his entire 14-year baseball career with the Boston Red Sox and has his No. 1 retired. He was named AL Player of the Year by The Sporting News in 1944. Inside the front left tail is a size “48” tag. Inside the rear collar is a “Wilson” size “44” manufacturer’s tag. Doerr signed the jersey below in blue pen and in our opinion, rates a 7. Across the chest reads “RED SOX”, which has been professionally restored. On the back is player number “1”. Both of these are done in the same red on navy blue felt lettering sewn directly onto the flannel jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
