Bill Russell was a five-time winner of the NBA Most Valuable Player Award and a twelve-time All-Star. He was the centerpiece of the Celtics dynasty that won eleven NBA Championships during his thirteen-year career. Russell holds the record for the most Championships won by an athlete. Russell is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. He was selected into NBA 25th Anniversary Team in 1971, into NBA 35th Anniversary Team in 1980 and named as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996, one of only four players that selected into all three teams. On the left front tail is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “42”. On both the front and back is player number “6” done in white tackle twill. On front is “EAST ALL STAR GAME” along with the Golden Gate Bridge done in gold felt appliqué. Also on front is “1967” along with eight red stars also done in felt appliqué. Inside the rear waistband of the satin like shorts is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and size “36”. Down either side of the shorts is “EAST” done in blue tackle twill. The uniform shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
