The Anaheim Amigos were a one year team in 1967-68, the inaugural season of the ABA. The team changed its name and moved to Los Angeles the next season and were renamed the Stars. A 'name the team' contest resulted in the Amigos name. The Amigos' roster was highlighted by guards Les Selvage, Jeff Congdon, Steve Chubin and former NBA player Ben Warley. Chubin led the team in scoring and assists and was a fan favorite. Selvage led the league in three point field goal attempts. Paul Scranton played in five games with the Amigos during the 1967-68 season, his only season in the pro’s. Inside the rear collar is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “44”. Attached is a blank white tag. Across the front is the team name “AMIGOS” done in white on black tackle twill. On back is player name “SCRANTON” done in black tackle twill on a white snap on nameplate. There is some residue throughout the shirt that is from framing. Accompanying this great shirt is a newspaper article from the LA Times dated July 14, 1988 which pictures Paul Scranton and this very shirt. The caption under the photo reads, “Scranton has framed his memories”. The shirt is in the frame with “AMIGOS” on front facing out. Scranton apparently removed the nameplate on back and glued it on front below the team name, accounting for the glue residue which still remains. The shooting shirt shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind. This incredibly rare shirt is accompanied by a LOA from Paul Scranton.
