During his first season, Dan Issel led the ABA in scoring with an average of 29.9 points per game, and pulled down 13.2 rebounds per game. He was named the ABA Rookie of the year in 1971 and was selected to the All-ABA Second Team. The following season, Issel raised his scoring average to 30.6 points per game, made the All-ABA First Team, and was named MVP of the 1972 ABA All-Star Game. The game was played in Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY on January 29, 1972. Issel scored 21 points in 23 minutes with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. In 1975, Issel won the 1975 ABA Championship with the Colonels. Hall of Fame, Class of 1993. On the inner rear left tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “44”. Attached is a white tag that appears to have something stamped on it but is heavily faded. Adjacent is a wash instructions tag. On the front is “EAST”. Player number “44” appears on both the front and back. Player name “ISSEL” appears across the back. All numbers and letters are done in blue tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from Dan Issel and was consigned by a family member.
