Adrian Dantley was enshrined into the Basketball Hall Fame in 2008. His pro career began in 1977 in Buffalo where he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year. Dantley quickly established his reputation as a prolific scorer. He would go on to win the league scoring title in 1981 and 1984, averaging 30 points per game between those seasons. Dantley finished his career with an average of 24.3 points per game. He scored his points with a mix of mid-range jump shots, high-percentage opportunities close to the basket, and frequent trips to the free throw line. For his career, he shot .540 from the floor and .818 from the charity stripe. He shares the record for most free throws made in a regular-season NBA game with 28. On the inside back collar is the "Sand-Knit" manufacturer’s size 42 tag. Next to this tag is the "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Detroit Pistons" tag. Next to these are three additional embroidered strip tags “88,” “3” LB,” and a blank tag. On the front left breast is the player name “ADRIAN" in blue screen print. On the lower right front is the “PISTONS” logo patch. On the upper right breast is the official embroidered “NBA” logo. On the left sleeve is the player number “45” in blue on red tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “DANTLEY” in blue tackle twill. The jacket shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
