This jacket comes to us from the personal collection of Al Ferrari. At 6' 4", and weighing 190 lbs., he played both at guard and forward. He was drafted by the St. Louis Hawks in the 3rd round (1st pick) of the 1955 NBA Draft. In his six-season NBA career, he played for the Hawks and the Chicago Zephyrs. Inside the left side of the white fleece jacket is a small pocket. On the outer pocket is the “Rawlings” manufacturers tag with jacket size “46”. Across the front is the team name “HAWKS”. Player number “11” appears on both sleeves. All numbers and letters are done in red on blue tackle twill. On back is player name “FERRARI” done in white on blue tackle twill on a red satin nameplate. The nameplate itself is applied to the jacket with seven snaps. On the left sleeve above the player number is the “1957-58 WORLD CHAMPIONS” embroidered patch which has been reinforced. On the inner waistband of the red fleece warm-up pants is the “Rawlings” manufacturers tag with pants size “36”. Adjacent is a white felt strip tag with player first and last name “Al Ferrari” done in red chain stitch. Also attached is a white tag that is faded and unreadable. The warm-up suit shows wear and with the exception of the patch being reinforced appears to have no further alterations of any kind. It is perhaps the most beautiful warm-up we have ever handled. Accompanied by a LOA from Al Ferrari himself.
