This jersey originated from Sam Jones. Sam Jones spent all of his twelve seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics who drafted him in the first round in 1957. He was known as a clutch scorer, and scored over 15,000 points in his career. He participated in five All-Star Games, and is usually recognized as one of the best point guards of his generation. Jones was named to the All-NBA Second Team three straight years and he played on ten championship teams, a total exceeded only by teammate Bill Russell in NBA history. He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984 and named a Top 50 All-Time player in 1996. On the back inside tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturers size 44 tag. Adjacent is an additional wash instructions tag. An additional tag is between these and is unreadable. Across the front is "EAST" surrounded by seven tackle twill stars. On the front and back is the player number "24." All lettering and numbering is done in white tackle twill. Autographed on front in black marker with “HOF 83” added and rates a 9. In the back inside waistband of the shorts is the “Rawlings” manufacturers size 36 tag. Adjacent is the wash instructions tag. On each leg are three red tackle twill stars. The uniform shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA. Accompanied by a Sam Jones LOA.
