A genial giant of a man, Nate Thurmond was one of the all-time great NBA centers. The Hall of Famer played 14 professional seasons in the 1960s and 1970s, posting career averages of 15.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game. Among the all-time NBA leaders in career rebounds and rebounding average, Thurmond was selected to play in seven NBA All-Star Games and was selected to the NBA All-Defensive Team five times. He still holds the NBA record for most rebounds in a quarter with 18, and he owns the distinction of being the first player ever to record a quadruple-double. On the left front tail are two "Sand-Knit" manufacturers' tags. The first is an "Exclusive" tag and the second located just below has the jersey size "46" along with wash instructions. Across the front is the team name "CAVALIERS." Player number "42" appears on both the front and back. All numbers and letters are done in red on white tackle twill. Player name "THURMOND" appears on the back stitched directly on the jersey in red tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It was consigned to us by Nate Thurmond and is accompanied by both a Fedex slip from Big Nate's BBQ and a photo match of Thurmond wearing the jersey.
