One of the best clutch performers in the history of sports, Larry Bird was the mainstay of the Boston Celtics for thirteen seasons. Averaging 33.4 ppg at Indiana State, he won the USBWA College Player of the Year, James Naismith and John Wooden Awards in 1979. He signed with the Celtics for $650,000 in 1979, the highest-paid rookie to date at that time. He made an immediate impact in Boston, turning around a 29-53 team to 61-21 in his first year, tops in the league. He went on to lead the Celtics to three World Championships and was a 12-time All-Star. On the left front tail of this road knit jersey is the "Medalist Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tag with the jersey size "46" on it. Above that is an additional manufacturer's exclusive tag that reads "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Boston Celtics." Across the front of the jersey is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "33." Across the back of the jersey is "BIRD." All lettering and numbering is done in green tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
