Large sized $100 Gold Certificates were first issued in 1863, with this Speelman-White note being issued in the 1922 Series. Featuring a portrait of Senator Thomas Hart Benton, the father of westward expansion in the United States, on the left, this Series has the payment obligation to the right of the bottom-left serial number, an addition from the previous (1880) Series. This rare note is in Extra-Fine condition.
