Emperor from 98-117 AD, Trajan was one of the "12 Caesars" under whose rule the Roman Empire reached its greatest territorial extent. Minted in Caesarea on the Mediterranean coast, this silver denarius features a laureated right-facing bust of Trajan on the front.
