A great signed photo of this Heavyweight Champion of the World who had already captured the World Middleweight title and even became the World Light Heavyweight Champion, his third title, at the age of 41. In what is still considered to be one of the greatest bouts of all time, "Ruby Robert" Fitzsimmons beat James "Gentleman Jim" Corbett at Carson City Nevada in 1897 with such luminaries as Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson in attendance. He is a tough signature on anything so this oversized studio photo from his heyday is a rare find. Photo by Bushnell Studios in San Francisco is mounted on heavy board. The mount is signed (very large) "Yours Truly Robert Fitzsimmons." Signature rates an 8 while photo is VG-EX due to some discoloration from years of being exposed to the light. Mount was slightly trimmed at top and is VG. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
