After understudying the legendary Joe Montana as backup quarterback for the 49ers for four years, Steve Young emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. A mobile scrambler with a quick mind and a strong and accurate left arm, Young proceeded to establish himself as the NFL's highest-rated passer in both 1991 and 1992. He led the 49ers to winning seasons in each of the six seasons. At the base of the "V" neck is the "NFL" patch. On the left front tail is the " Wilson" exclusive label and below is the size tag, "44." On the back of the jersey is a red mesh nameplate with the name "Young." The player number "8" appears on the front, back and on each shoulder of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of white tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
