Cal Murphy was a 5'9" dynamo known for playing pressure basketball at both ends of the court. An All-America at Norwalk (CT) High School and then at Niagara University, his 33.1 points per game average ranks fourth best in NCAA Division I history. Murphy played 13 NBA seasons with the San Diego and Houston Rockets, scoring 1,000 points in 11 straight seasons. A 1979 All-Star, he was one of the best free throw shooters ever, twice leading the league and retiring with a career 89.2 percent record. In addition to his 17,949 points, Murphy dished off 4,402 assists in his NBA career. Silver Relief medallion. In excellent condition; slight wear on tip of nose.
