Once again, the Nationals let the Americans get so close, only to take it away in dramatic fashion. Things were looking pretty, as a tense eight innings passed and the teams were tied, 3-3, going into the ninth. Then it happened, with bases loaded, Goose Gossage was eye-to-eye with Bill Madlock, who singled to left, scoring two runs. A third scored on Pete Rose's sacrifice fly. This is the original line-up card from the game, listing all the NL all-stars and signed in pencil on the bottom by Walt Alston. Signature is a low grade example, but still presentable. The line-up card measures 7" x 5-1/4" and grades EX overall.
