“The Chief” was known as a versatile center, using his 7' size and speed to contain opposing players, launch precise shots from outside the paint. In 1996, Parish was selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. In 1998, in honor of his achievements, the Celtics retired Parish's famous number “00” jersey. He was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003. Johnny Most, the voice of the Celtics passed away on January 3, 1993, so this shirt was worn after that date, from the middle to the end of the season. On the left front tail is the "Champion” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “46”. Adjacent is the “1992-93 Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Boston Celtics Body Length +3” tag. Across the front is “CELTICS”. Player number “00” appears on both the front and back. Player name “PARISH” appears across the back. All numbers and letters are done in white tackle twill. At the left chest is the official NBA embroidered logo. Above on the left shoulder strap is the Johnny Most black memorial armband. Inside the rear waistband of the matching green mesh shorts is the “Champion” tag with size “38”. Adjacent is the “Exclusive” tag with “Inseam +2 Rise +1” and player number “00” written in black marker. The uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use.
