Established in 1980 by the Hillerich & Bradsby Co., the Silver Slugger Award honors the best offensive player at each position based on a combination of hitting statistics. Dave "The Cobra" Parker won the award in 1990 as a designated hitter for the Milwaukee Brewers. Parker drove in 92 runs while hitting .290 with a .450 slugging percentage. The 34" silver colored bat stands on a 11" x 23" home plate shaped wooden base. The black and silver plaque honors Parker as a Silver Slugger recipient and also as a member of the 1990 Sporting News American League Offensive Team. The award is in excellent to near-mint condition.
