The 1986 NY Mets were a very talented ballclub poised to become a great team. Stacked with pitching, power and defense, the Mets won 108 games during the regular season. After a very exciting six game series with the Houston Astros, the Mets and Red Sox engaged in one of the most memorable World Series of all-time. The Mets won in seven games with the outcome unknown until Orosco's outside heater overmatched Barrett and smacked into Carter's awaiting glove. This beautiful 1986 New York Mets World Championship ring is from a former executive of the Mets from 1983-2000. He was issued this genuine 1986 World Championship ring after the victory. The availability of a real 1986 Mets ring is very scarce. This ring is 10k gold with real diamonds and in its original condition. The top shank has the words "1986 World Champions" engraved around the edge. On the right shank is the name "Richardson" and on the left shank is the name "Mets 116 Wins" with the World Series Trophy between them. On the inside of the ring are manufacturers' markings authenticating the ring and indicating that it is 10K gold. The overall condition of this size 11 ring is near-mint to mint.
