John Hanna played 21 years of professional hockey for six different professional leagues. Hanna was the WHL Defensive Player of the Year in 1969 & 71 and won the league MVP award in 1969. Hanna played for the Cleveland Crusaders of the WHA in 1972-73 and was named to the first ever WHA All-Star game. The game occurred on 1/6/73 in Quebec City and the East team won 6-4. This WHA East All-Star jersey was worn by Hanna during the WHA's first All-Star game. In the neck of the jersey is the "Cosby" label and adjacent is the size tag, "50." On the front of the jersey is the WHA ironed-on emblem. On the back of the jersey is the name "Hanna" in red tackle twill. The player number "20" appears on the back of the jersey as well as on each sleeve. The numbers are made of blue tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
