Bill Johnson was a regular player with the Yankees throughout four of their World Championship seasons. This all-original home pinstripe was worn by the All-Star during the 1951 season. In the collar is the "A.G. Spalding" manufacturer's label. Below this the "Dry Clean Only" wash tag as well as the size tag reading "42." On the left front tail is the player name "W Johnson" and year "51" in blue chain stitch. On the left front breast is the Yankees interlocking "NY" logo and on the back is the player number "24." All of this is done in blue felt. It is missing the 1951 Anniversary patch. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. A fine relic from one of the Bombers' most important seasons.
