Both Magic and Bird would enter the NBA in the fall of 1979, and the rivalry between them and their teams, the Celtics and Lakers was a major factor in the league's renaissance in the 1980s and 1990s. This ball has been signed by the 1978-79 team that went to the NCAA Championship game in March of 1979. It is a “AMF Voit” basketball that has been signed by 16 members of the team at the time including a vintage Larry Bird, Carl Nicks, Ed Curry, Rod McNelty, Leroy Staley, Bob Ritter, Alex Gilbert, Scott Turner, Bob Heaton, Brad Miley, Tom Crowder, Terry Hrimlar, Steve Reed, Bob Behake, Rick Vemeek and Bill Hodges. All signatures are done in black marker and rate an overall 8. The ball is in EX overall condition and is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
