After a harsh critique from his minor league manager, Hall of Famer Enos Slaughter began to play the game of baseball with all that he could muster. In 1938, his efforts paid off as he earned a spot on the Cardinals roster where he would become a star. He went on to play with four World Champion teams including the 1958 New York Yankees, the season from which these pants date. In the waist of these home pinstripe pants is the "Spalding" manufacturer's tag. Next to this is the player name "Slaughter" and number "17," along with the size and inseam "36/38," and year "59." All of this is done in blue chain stitch. The pants show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
