As a halfback, kicker and quarterback, Dick Kazmaier was named an All-American and won the Heisman Trophy in 1951. He ended his career third all-time in Princeton history with over 4,000 yards of offense and 55 touchdowns. Kazmaier was also named Ivy League Football Player of the Decade in 1960 and Time Magazine ran his picture on its cover. He was the last Heisman Trophy winner to play for an Ivy League institution. Offered is a game-used Heisman Trophy season helmet purchased directly from Kazmaier. Riddell manufactured suspension helmet with the chin strap and inside padding fully intact. The size “7 1/8” is stamped inside the helmet as well as the number “3”. The player number “42” is handwritten inside the left ear hole in heavily faded blue marker. Kazmaier signed the outer shell of the helmet in black marker with the added inscription “Heisman 1951” and in our opinion the signature rates a near 9. Vintage aging and wear is present. This helmet is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and shows wear. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
