First ballot National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Carl Yastrzemski was an 18-time All-Star in his 23-year baseball career with the Boston Red Sox. He earned seven Gold Glove Awards, was a three-time AL batting champion and was the All-Star Game MVP in 1970. Yastrzemski’s No. 8 is retired by the Red Sox franchise. On the front center tail to the left of the button path is a “Wilson” size “42” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Below is a white swatch with the year “82” embroidered on it in navy blue chain-stitching. Across the chest reads, “RED SOX” and on the back is the player number “8”. All numbering and lettering are done in red on navy blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the white jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
