The first Masters was held March 22, 1934, and was then called the Augusta National Invitation Tournament. Club officials formally changed the tournament’s name to “The Masters” in 1939. This is a highly coveted and scarce official program issued for the first Masters Tournament. The offered original program is 44 pages and measures 8.5x11”. The content inside includes diagrams of each hole, photos of the grounds, and photos of prominent club members. Light handling wear, slight spot staining and surface blemishes are evident on both covers including a small pencil marking on the front. Approximately 70% of the front cover is detached and the staples are not present. The photo of member Jerome Franklin has been cut out. This offered edition includes a page listing the tournament results, which is seen in approximately a third of the 1934 Masters programs that have survived.
