1923 was the inaugural year of Yankee Stadium. Led by Babe Ruth, the team marched onto the field wearing their wool sweaters. Peter Capolino, founder of Mitchell & Ness has meticulously recreated this sweater to the exact details of the original. Made in Maine by his custom knitter, the sweater weighs 3.5Lbs. Worsted Wool yarn is a domestic source in Maine. The sweater fits men’s size 48 to 50. Attached to the rear neck is the “Blueberry Woolens” manufacturers tag with two attached flag tags; one reading “100% WOOL” and one with washing instructions. On the left chest is the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo in navy blue. Inside the front right tail is a strip tag reading “New York Yankees 1923” embroidered.
