Dave DeBusschere was a defensive stopper who could take the air out of opponents with his physical brand of ball. The heart and soul of the New York Knick teams of the 1970s and a member of championship teams in 1970 and 1973, Hall of Fame Class of 1983, NBA Top 50 Player. This jersey was originally obtained directly from DeBusschere and was worn in an old timer’s game at Madison Square Garden. On the left front tail is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with size “44”. Above is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for NY Knicks” tag. Adjacent is a blue strip tag with “4”LB”. Inside the rear collar is the “Gerry Cosby” distributors tag. Across the front is “NEW YORK”. Player number “22” appears on both the front and back. All these numbers and letters are done in orange on white tackle twill. Player name “DEBUSSCHERE” appears on back in white tackle twill block letters. There is a name and number change on back. The shell was used and then lettered for DeBusschere for the event. DeBusschere has signed the front numbers in black marker rating an 8. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as old timers game worn and in our opinion shows appropriate use. An affordable DeBusschere “gamer”. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA, originally sourced from DeBusschere.
