Everyone is familiar with the large banners that hang outside of museums advertising their latest exhibits. This unique piece hung outside of the Museum of Natural History for their exhibit "Champions of American Sport." This is a 25' x 25' reinforced nylon banner with wind flaps, large black and white nylon likeness of Babe Ruth stitched on the front. Ruth is shown from the waist up, seated, holding a bat that is resting on his shoulder. He appears to be intensely concentrating, ostensibly anticipating his next at-bat. The lettering is all nylon and is stitched on. There are also two smaller left and right side banners with stitched on nylon lettering that reiterates the overall theme of the exhibit.
