For the better part of the 20th century, the barbershop was more than a place to cut hair, it was a meeting place where everything from sports, philosophy, politics and religion were enthusiastically debated. This is a beautiful barber chair (manufactured by Emil J. Paidar Company in Chicago, IL) in original condition and appears to have never been restored. This chair has a porcelain base and comes complete with the original headrest. The seat material has cracks due to aging and drying out. The chair appears to be in good working order, it reclines and swivels. However, the hydraulics do not currently work. Upright the chair measures 4' in height to the top of the headrest. It is 26" wide and 3'6" in length. In the reclining position, it is 5' in length and 3'3" high from the floor. Shipping will be expensive for this item.
