Soviet statesman, First Secretary of Soviet Communist Party (1953-64), Prime Minister (1958-64). Amazing one-of-a-kind collectible, seven-page illustrated Russian poem, "The Swan, The Pike, and the Crayfish" by Ivan Krylov, issued by OGIZ (Russian State Publishing House of Art & Literature), signed and inscribed to President John F. Kennedy by Khrushchev in 1962 -- just months before the Cuban Missile Crisis! Accompanied by diplomatic transmittal form from US embassy in Moscow addressed to "THE PRESIDENT CARE MRS LINCOLN [JFK's personal secretary] WHITE HOUSE MANY HAPPY RETURNS FROM YOUR MOSCOW CONSTITUENTS," stamp received "The White House Washington 1962 May 21 PM 3 25." Khrushchev's signature and inscription, in Cyrillic, dark, bold and pristine, against the Cuban Missile Crisis backdrop, this signed poem is truly a UNIQUE, fascinating relic from the darkest days of the Cold War. This lot comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
